Product Description:
The story of the industrious Little Red Hen is not a new one, but when this particular hen spies a can of tomato sauce in her cupboard and decides to make a pizza, the familiar tale takes on a fresh new twist. Kids will love following along as the hen, with no help from her friends the duck, the dog, and the cat, goes through the steps of making a pizza-shopping for supplies, making the dough, and adding the toppings. But despite their initial resistance, the hen's friends come through in the end and help out in a refreshing and surprising way.

A wonderfully written retelling/sequel to the classic Little Red Hen story. This time, the Little Red Hen makes that kid-pleaser, a pizza.
What really makes this a must-have is the incredibly detailed collage-style illustrations. Kids can look at this book over and over and find something new on each page every time. What are the 'other things' Little Red Hen brings home from her shopping expeditions? What other project does she do that day, besides make a pizza? Look at the illustrations to find out.

This is a lovely story with witty illustrations. I've read it many times to my kids, and we still find it fun. No need to replace the original with this one if it's a moral you're seeking. Rest assured that the dinner guests help clean up. And just enjoy this wonderful book!

You know the story. The hen asks for help, gets none, but in the end (in this version) everyone is happy. It's an amusing, upbeat version of The Little Red Hen.
The illustrations make this book wonderful. The collages are gorgeous and highly detailed. There are little funnies for the big people sprinkled throughout, too. This is a wonderful book to share.
