Product Description:
The infamous pirate, riverboat seductress, master of disguise, and street-urchin-turned-sailour Jacky Faber has been captured by the French and beheaded in full view of her friends and crew.
Inconceivable? Yes! The truth is she’s secretly forced to pose as an American dancer behind enemy lines in Paris, where she entices a French general into revealing military secrets—all to save her dear friends. Then, in intrepid Jacky Faber style, she dons male clothing and worms her way into a post as galloper with the French army, ultimately leading a team of men to fight alongside the great Napoleon.
In this sixth installment of the Bloody Jack Adventures series, love and war collide as the irrepressible Jacky Faber sets off on a daring adventure she vowed she’d never take.

I really liked this book, the 6th in the series. I was just turned on to the series a few months ago. After buying a used copy of Bloody Jack from Amazon and devouring it, I ran to the closest book store and bought a stack, from Blue Tattoo to Missippi Jack. I was lucky to always have the subsequent installment, as each book ends leaving the reader begging for more. By the time I got to Miss. Jack, I felt like it was mere required reading. Just how long can Jacky and Jaimy chase each other, and realistically can their love survive? I bought the Horseman the day it came out, mainly to just follow through, genuinely hoping it would be the end. Well, it sure didn't take long for me to change my mind. This was not required reading, This was exciting-can't-wait-to-get-home-and read kind of stuff. I loved this book, probably more than any others. I was so happy to see Joseph Jared again. What a man. And I liked these adventures. I won't give too much away, but there is so much excitement. She wins hearts, she wins more medals. Jacky wins it all. Now, I am sad to have it over. I want a Puss-in-Boots tattoo.

I've been waiting for a while for this book to come out... and it was totally worth the wait. Jacky once again gets into a little "mischief" and with her usual aplomb, amazing luck and array of skills manages to see yet another day. Great read, surprisingly fast shipping especially for a destination outside the continental U.S.

I flew right through My Bonny Light Horseman, so quickly, I was truly sad to see it end. I've read all six books in the Bloody Jack series, and each one becomes my favorite as I read it, with this one being no different. From the start of the book, Jacky again finds herself in a many near-death situations, one that even forces her to become a spy for her country in a war against the French. Along with the usual main characters, Meyer introduces you to many new characters that you get acquainted with so quickly, it's as if you had been reading about them all along since the very first Bloody Jack book. One new character that everyone should already be familiar with is the infamous French ruler, Napoleon, whom Jacky has a few important encounters with, one especially, that has a great impact with this book's outcome and the war of that time. Being a middle school language arts teacher, I would recommend this book to anyone that loves entertaining, historical, and even humorous books. If there is only one book that you buy a friend or loved one this year for the holidays, it has to be this one. It's a must read for the entire family.

I recently finished the sixth Bloody Jack Adventure and after I did my fare share of squealing and screaming in joy, I sat down to write my review. I thought it was wonderful - Jacky's just as adventurous as ever. I find it highly amusing that she can get herself into these crazy adventures. I was very pleased with this book. There was romance (from our very, shall we say, daring Jacky) and there was adventure. I gasped, screamed, sighed, shouted, giggled, and laughed out loud throughout the entire book. I count a book by if it can inflect emotion into the reader, and L.A. Meyer certainly created a character and situations where the reader could feel the same emotions as Jacky. I wasn't as happy with the fifth book in the series, but this wasn't a disappointment! I would highly recommend this book, and especially this series. I can't wait for the subsequent adventure, "Bloody Jack; Rapture of the Deep". Who knows where Jacky will go next, or who she shall find herself in the company of? But I know she'll have a good time getting there! Sail on, Tonda-lay-o Queen on the ocean, Puss-in-boots, Bloody Jack, Jacky Faber!

I am a huge fan of the Bloody Jack books, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on My Bonny Light Horseman. Unfortunately, this book lacked the sparkle of it's predecessors. A lot of previous plots were re-hashed. There were men falling in love with Jacky and her pretty much cheating on Jaimy for no reason while he's back in London waiting for her. It also contained some confusing bits, such as why is Jacky staying in the French army as a spy when it's obvious that there is no information concerning an invasion of England? Especially since there are already British spies in the same place Jacky is sent to. It seems like new characters were underdeveloped and in general things went by too quickly without much development. After the last book, which was very different, exciting, and engaging, I was incredibly disappointed with the latest offering. I gave it three stars because I still love Jacky, and I hope the subsequent in the series will give me reason to stick with her.
