I haven't seen this edition, but I wonder if they changed the illustrations (or took them out altogether)? I recently saw an old copy from the local library, and one of the illustrations was unbelievably racist. it portrayed the "natives" as "savage cannibals" with the old "jungle-man" stereotype of the African.
