I use this book with my fourth and fifth graders. This book also came in handy when I presented a lesson on teaching theme to 30 teachers at my school two weeks ago. A must have for intermediate teachers!

I used this book with my 5th graders and found the stories a little outdated. One of the stories is cute, but a main part of the story had to do with a "record player." The kids just didn't get the relevance of a "skipping record." It was hard for them to relate to that.
The graphic organizers that went with the stories were good, but the kids were bored with the stories!
