Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Limp Vampires
After wishing up the perfect man at a friend's Goddess ceremony, Joy and her BFF Roxy head to Europe hoping to make their dreams come true and meet the man or vampire of their dreams. Once there, Joy becomes a love magnet for three very different men, creates an instant enemy and becomes embroiled in a murder mystery.

I'm sure there is a huge market out there for this book but I obviously miss the demographic. I was suckered in by the promise of a modern vampire romance and left hugely disappointed by the unrealistic characters, the by-the-numbers "mystery" and lack of anything resembling romance. Frankly I found the Mills and Boon romances I used to read as a teenager far more sexy and believable than anything this has to offer. Even the graphic sex scenes left me cold.

As for the main character Joy, she must be one hell of a looker as nothing she says or does indicates a personality that could bring men to their knees. Her friend Roxy fares little better as the supposedly wise-cracking best friend who is never more than vaguely annoying. The male characters are made of such light cardboard that they could blow away in a stiff breeze. And speaking of stiff, if I had to read another passage about the length, breadth and awesomeness of Raphael's amazing member I may have had to throw up.

Perhaps having recently read the amazing Twilight series I have been spoiled and am being unnecessarily harsh but I don't think so. This book left me colder than a vampire's kiss. Not funny. Not sexy. Not interesting.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Seriously, another very first person book
I don't know how I get suckered into these books. I love the paranormal romances, but I guess I don't do enough research. For people like me, I leave this non-review because I didn't read the book... Because it is written in the very first person perspective.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - 2 stars because of the intriguing Christian
First, I have to say that I enjoy Katie MacAlister's other works, particularly Improper English. I think she's a great author, but this was one book that I just didn't like.

The only reason why I kept reading was because I wanted to find out Christian Dante's fate...and that will be the reason why I will read the subsequent book in this series. Beyond that, this book wasn't really that great. The plot is fantastic, but it got overpowered by the one-dimensional, unlikeable heroine and her sidekick, the most annoying and irking character ever created. I think Joy's character was supposed to come off as fluffy fun with a heart, but she ended up coming off as a caricature rather than a real human being. Take that and add in Roxy...OH MY GOD it was tedious at times to read.

I fell in love with Christian primarily because his character, by definition of the plot, makes him alluring and intriguing. You see in him the makings of a wonderful romantic paranormal lead, which is the only reason why I'm going to read the subsequent book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A Delicious Escape
This book is delightful. I was drawn to this title because I am a huge fan of contemporary vampire romance with some comedy thrown in for good measure. The sex scenes are erotic, and the characters are fascinating yet grounded. The heroine, Joy, is a real woman with insecurities about her height, her size, her talents, and her association with her wacky best friend. Kate delivers a book that is a good espcape from day to day life.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great read
This was a great read, only complaint I had is it was over too quickly! I couldn't put it down!
