Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
G. A. Henty was a 19th century novelist, special correspondent and Imperalist. His best-known works are historical adventures. This story revolves around the War for Independence. Bunkers Hill, Treton, the capture of Philadelphia, Saratoga, Savannah, and South Carolina are locations in this story. This story is told by Major Steadman who served under Howe and Cornwallis. Unlike most books written about the American Revolution this account it told from the British perspective. For this reason alone this is an important book for anyone interested in American history.

I bought this expecting a Patriotic American story. I should have known that Henty would write from a more British perspective. He does a good job of it though and still writes with flair and creates interest in the story. What the writer does so well though ~ the book binder lacks totally. This book didn't last through one reading. The pages fell out and I had to hot glue them back to the binding. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I bought the book. Another great Henty work, it just needs a better binding.
