Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
This text provides a truly global approach to the world history survey. Its fundamental theme, the interaction of human beings and the environment, serves as a point of comparison for different times, places, and societies. Special emphasis is given to technology and how technological development underlies all human activity. The Third Edition combines strong scholarship and pedagogy to uphold the book's reputation for rigour and accessibility. Several features, such as detailed maps, images, and timelines, help students build their geography and comparative analysis skills.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great book
This is best world history book I have ever seen. The writing is a bit higher level, but it contains many maps and wonderful images the authors had to borrow from museums around the world. The text starts from the earliest civilizations from around 5000 BCE until the present day. What separates this book from the other texts on world history is that this book does not focus on the white man. In fact, it talks very little about European society and more on China, Mesopotamia, Greece, Egypt, India, etc. Basically, it's actually WORLD history. A great text for class. I'm currently using it for AP world history at my school.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - You will have the worst time ahead
The chapters and writing style are so boring, you don't get much learning out of it because you want to end each page as quickly as possible.
