Okay, hands down....this is one of my favorite books to read to my son. I very first saw it in a local Target and was pleasantly surprised to see such beautiful artwork for a children's book. Even though it was rather expensive at the store, I am sure you'll be able to find a bargain here on Amazon. I guess I liked the grey children and cute grey lab since it's a reflection of our very own home too!
Anyway, since I purchased the book nearly a week ago, we've read it twice and PLEASE is now my son's favorite word. He says it ALL-THE-TIME. We laugh at how mischievous but loving the dog is described in the book.
Basically, every child needs a pet at some point and even if the parent won't allow one in the house, reading this book may turn out to be a great temporary substitute. The only thing is when your child starts to ask more persistently for a puppy and they end it "please, please".
Also, it is a good way to teach your child manners (and Lord more parents need to do that!)

Next to "please baby please"..this is my 2yr old's favorite book. We have read it so much that she knows what comes subsequent on each page. It is the best. I'm waiting for the subsequent book !!!!!
