Product Description:

Mole, Water Rat, Badger, and the mischievous Toad live a quiet life on banks of the River Thames with the rest of their animal friends. But Toad tends to get into trouble, and his passion for cars eventually results in his being caught and kept a helpless prisoner in the remotest dungeon of the best-guarded castle in all the land. Dressed as a washerwoman—and with some help from his friends—Toad manages to escape the castle and begins his journey home to Toad Hall. Originally published in 1908, this magnificent new edition of Kenneth Grahame’s charming tale brings the animals' adventures to life and is accompanied by more than 70 new illustrations from award-winning artist Robert Ingpen. Fans of all ages will enjoy reliving—or reading for the very first time—this heartwarming story of friendship.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Join the fun with Mole, Ratty, Badger, and of course, Mr Toad!
A gem of a book. This is one of my favorite books from childhood (and adulthood!). This newest edition, which celebrates the 100th anniversay of the very first publication of Kenneth Grahame's book (1908), has the most delightful illustrations by Robert Ingpen. A lovely collector quality book for anyone, young, or not so young!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - a beautifully illustrated book...
the story is delightful, and the illustrations are lovely...my kids and I have read it together this summer and it was a definate hit!

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Illustrations
My only exposure to Wind In the Willows was from the Disney film, which left vivid pictures in my memory. The book did not disappoint those memories, but reinforced them; the illustrations adding not a little to the experience, no doubt contributing to this. This will be a fine window-seat book for my grand children. Magic!
