This is a book I, being Mormon have felt a need to write myself! Fortunately for the readers I found that it was already written by Carol Lynn Pearson; and a thousand times better than I ever could. I sincerely wish that all Mormons/Christians would read this book to make sure that Christ is not only a name we claim "outwardly" but that we truly aspire to become more Christ-like; more understanding, charitable and less judgemental and intolerant - less ignorant. I especially wish that all who have leadership positions in a church would read this book; it could make the world of a difference to some people within the sound of your voice or to whom you give counsel. This book is so precious because it is honest about the struggle many gay people - and their families and friends - have. It provides both tragic and hopeful examples from real life. Carol Lynn Pearson is a gifted writer who truly knows what she is talking about, as do all the other voices she cites. It is a book that is hard to put down!! It is an important book, I warmly recommend it! Please read it. Please pass it on. It just may help you see the world in a (little) different light.

After I purchased this book and read it, I bought 5 more copies to share with anyone who expressed an interest. I found the personal stories riveting and I'm very thankful to Carol Lynn for gathering all of them. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in what it is like to be Mormon and Gay.

When I finished reading No More Goodbyes I wanted everyone to read it. I bought every copy at our local bookstore and have been passing them around to family and friends. Reading it filled me with love for our gay brothers and sisters, sorrow for their sufferings, respect for their strengths, and determination to do all I can to contribute to their happiness. Whether you are gay yourself, know someone who is gay, or even if you don't know anyone personally who is gay - I highly recommend reading this book.

This is a must read if you are, know, or are close to a gay woman or man, ESPECIALLY those gay and lesbians who have grown up in a strict religous enviroment. Carol Lynn helps us see what TRUE CHRISTIANITY means; loving and circling around those that have acute needs, calling all religions to love, shelter, and shoulder the burden of those who are homosexual. This book opened my mind and heart up to a greater personal healing, and made me feel hopeful for future reconciliation between gay people and the faiths they so love yet are cast out by. The author mixes the perfect amount of perosnal accounts, citing many gay Christians, their loved ones, those who oppose them, and offering solutions and theories that we all stand in need of hearing. I read this book in a week, and have recommended it to everyone I know. You will not only enjoy it, but want to share it with those you love.

I just completed reading this touching book after having also recently read "Goodbye, I Love You," her book that brought me to tears. Being a gay male who was previously married, fathering a son, going through a divorce, and all along attempting to reconcile my evangelical Christian faith with my sexuality, both books spoke directly to me in many ways. Carol Lynn is a magnificent writer with a style that let's the reader know that she writes from her heart.
I found that "No More Goodbyes," although consisting of a majority of LDS-related testimonials relative to non-heterosexuality and the life crises that it created, speaks to hearts of all persons of faith. This book is worth every cent if you are looking for encouragement and greater tolerance for yourself or others who are dealing with issues of faith and spirituality. Carol Lynn is truly gifted for her God-given calling to promote healing in the lives touched by differences in sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This book illustrates how families that could have turned their backs on loved ones instead chose to support true family values!
