I may have missed it in the product description but this book is too small for its intended public. My daughter can't relate to pictures this small, especially in a story with lots of text. We try to read tracing my finger over the words to help her with pre-reading prep but that isn't possible with this tiny book. Next time I'll pay the bucks for the full size item.

The story is great, however, the book size was completely disappointing. Instead of being a standard children's book size - it was minature!! It is about 3"x 3". Who wants a 3 inch book? Unacceptable.

I was really disappointed in the book itself. It was tiny (5x5 at best!) I bet I look at the "fine print" subsequent time to ensure the book is of somewhat normal size...

This book is an EXCELLENT book. However, nowhere in the description does it mention that this specific copy is only 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches. I bought this book to read to my students, but because of the size, I was not able to use it either as a readaloud or on my classroom bookshelf. The story itself, as can be expected in many Munsch books, was hilariously funny. I only wish that I was able to use the book.

After 27 years of teaching K-1 before retirement, I became a pretty good judge of what children would enjoy listening to. The fact that these adults - parent, teacher, principal - that are almost "hallowed" in the lives of elementary school children are the ones having the over-the-top tantrums makes it all the more hilarious. My students loved this book and laughed out loud all the way through it. True, it's not a role model for good manners but all books don't have to be that. Not every book has to teach a lesson. They can be just for fun. Children may not know the word hyperbole but they are more than capable of recognizing and appreciating its spirit. I read it each year it to my very first graders and they loved every minute of it. They understood it was an exaggeration and relished the humour of it just as they loved the embellished humour of Shel Silverstein and exaggerated sweetness of "Love You Forever." I always prefaced the reading with a bit about the snowsuit that I had and desperately hated when I was a child. Read it to your kids and enjoy laughing with them at the frustrations of the adults in Thomas' life. Just enjoy.
