Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Hard-driving suspense and intense passion are the hallmarks of bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann’s pulse-pounding thrillers. In her tales of daring, danger, courage, and desire, men and women of action fight fiercely, love deeply, and time after time raise the bar for adventure to new heights. Brockmann’s latest novel is no exception.

Florida private investigator and ex-cop Ric Alvarado’s life is spiraling out of control. His beautiful new girl Friday, Annie Dugan, is far more interested in fieldwork than filing, and despite Ric’s best efforts to ignore the attraction, sparks are flying between them. Then one of Ric’s clients turns femme fatale and tries to gun down an innocent man. Thanks to quick thinking and even quicker reflexes, Ric comes to the rescue, only to learn he’s done a very good deed for some very bad people.

Suddenly Ric finds himself deep undercover with Annie, working for notorious crime boss Gordon Burns. One mistake from Ric’s painfully inexperienced partner and they’re both dead.

FBI agent Jules Cassidy’s life isn’t in much better shape. For years the FBI has been trying to prove Gordon Burns’s ties to terrorist activity. Now, thanks to Ric and Annie, Jules has found a way into the lion’s den. But in the course of his investigation he comes face-to-face with Robin Chadwick, the charismatic but self-destructive and closeted movie star for whom Jules feels a powerful attraction. Robin’s in town promoting his latest film–and Gordon Burns is a star-struck movie buff.

With Robin and Jules’s help, Ric and Annie are soon entrenched in Burns’s organization, surrounded by killers who may already have executed an FBI infiltrator. Before long the couple realizes that many more lives besides their own will be at stake if they make a false move. As the heat between them reaches dangerous levels, so do the risks they’re willing to take–in the line of duty, for the sake of loyalty, and in the name of something that runs even deeper.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Force of Nature Trouble Shooters Book 11
I generally love Suzanne Brockman's books. I have empathy for the homosexual's plight. However, I really would rather not read about their love-making. It actually takes away from the total enjoyment of the story being told. So, every book she has written going on and on about this subject has never been a "keeper" for me, to be read again.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - A tedious, boring read
There are very few books that I begin reading but don't finish. This was one of them. I also thought it was tedious, with an over emphasis on homosexuality. After reading half of it I still wasn't sure what they were trying to solve. Also, I did not think that FBI agents worked with private investigators.

Suzanne Brockmann has a wonderful talent for describing hunky men doing their sweaty best to save our country from various evils. Her romance elements are some of the best I've read. Description, setting, plot. She has it all.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Too long to wait....
I'm a Brockmann fan, have read almost all of her previous books and even saw her at a Romance Writers' Convention. My problem with this book is that it took way too long for the action to get going - in fact, the action didn't really happen until the last 100 pages or so. Once it got going, by the way, it was fine. Not much to do with terrorists, as a reader had been led to believe, but creative, funny and heart-tugging.

My big problem was that before the action there was an awful lot of feelings....and more feelings....and more of the same. If I read one more time that Rick was scared for Annie or that Robin is a f-up.....well, let's just say that it got tedious as SB repeated the same thoughts again and again. I'd also say that the introduction of multiple characters at the start was pretty awkwardly handled and it took far too long for them all to mesh and the actual plot to get going.

For those who are SB fans, I'd recommend HEARTHROB and BODYGUARD, two non-SEAL and non-military books, which are truly excellent, fast-moving contemporaries.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - If you don't know who Jules and Robin are... read the series!
Not only is this special book in its own right, but it's the beautiful lead in to Jules and Robin's happily ever after. If you're a fan of this series then you've been cheering for them since we very first met them and in Force of Nature things are finally resolved. And if you don't know who Jules and Robin are... read the series! You'll love it!In sequence this glorious series reads; The Unsung Hero, The Defiant Hero, Over the edge, Out of Control, Into the Night, Gone too Far, Flashpoint, Hot Target, Breaking Point, Into the Storm, Force of Nature, All Through the Night and Into the Fire, due in August in hardcover - reserve your copy now!.
