What happens when you take a couple of the most prominent African American families and a city official and you mix in a couple of secrets? That is what we find out in the pages of Shon Majette's Coincidence.
Grier Carver is a real estate investor who is set on purchasing some commercial property from Macon & Macon Law Firm. During negotiations, he meets Rae Macon. She is an attorney with Macon & Macon. Rae is a woman with dreams of having it all, a career and family. Instantly, they notice there is some chemistry between them. But there is just one problem, Grier's ex-fiancé, Millicent. Millicent works with Rae and she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Grier and Rae from becoming an item.
As Rae and Grier become more acquainted with each other, another series of events opens the door for them to learn the secrets of their families' past. Will these secrets destroy the families of the city's elite?
We are also introduced to The Journal Keeper. The Journal Keeper never speaks. This person details her life of abuse, at the hands of her husband, between the pages of her journal. She lets you feel the hopelessness she feels because of the things that happen to her.
Coincidence is confusing at times, trying to figure out the role each character plays in the story. It became more confusing when The Journal Keeper was added to the mix. You get the idea that this person can be any number of people. However, there is enough drama to keep you turning the pages so that you can figure out who is doing what.

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. This book was a real page turner. Can't wait for part 2. If you like Mary B. Morrison. Eric Jerome Dickey or Omar Tyree you'll love Shon Majette and "Coincidence".

such as "Coldest Winter Ever" by Sister Souljah and/or other popular African American novels, then "Coincidence" is a must have!
Shon Majette is a very talented yet humble and hard working young lady
with an imagination that will cause you to experience a mixture of emotions from the beginning to the very end of this book. You'll be on the edge of your seat reading page after page not wanting to sit it
down! What is truly amazing are the descriptive details of places in our nation's capital that have gone unbeknown to many Washingtonians.
Her creativity will capture you and hold your attention and leave you yearning to pick up its sequal. Although most gift giving holidays have passed, this would make for a wonderful gift for any occasion. It is a wonderful reading for travel, for your work commute, for book clubs, or for relaxing in your spare time.
