Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great story!
Others here have already outlined the story for you so no need for me to. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it (as I already have to all my friends & family). It was a great read & I can't wait for more from this author.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great Start in a New Series
I enjoyed this book a lot. It has a lot of twists and turns. It starts out very light and takes a rather dark turn near the end. Megan is a delightful character and she has a radio show where she promises her listeners that she'll "slay their personal demons," and they believe her and so do the personal demons. Megan is physic and she soon finds out that everyone has a personal demon on their shoulder, to her surprise she is the only human without one. Megan is approached by and then protected by Greyson Dante, a Fire Demon. When he can't be with her, he leaves three demons to protect her, they are like the three stooges, Malleus, Maleficarum, and Spud, they are so loveable, one can't help but fall for them. Then there is Brian, the reporter, he is writing a story about Megan and he isn't sure if he likes her or dislikes her, he plays a major part in her story. Lots of action and world building in this book. A very exciting ending. I am looking forward to reading the subsequent book in the series.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Can I slay your demons for you?
That is the slogan that Megan's radio producer comes up with to promote her new radio program. But, there are some things that Megan is keeping from her friends and colleagues. Now, Megan is a psychic who has a practice where she helps her patients confront and overcome their fears. She is presented with an opportunity to have a radio show that promises her listeners that she will slay their demons. Well, you can imagine how the demon world feels about this. So, you have a family (think the Mafia, only more demonic) who send a representative to Megan to convince her to work for them and not to accept other offers. And you have an entity who is after Megan for reasons of his own. Trust me, Megan doesn't want to know why he wants her. At first, I wanted to slap Megan around for being hostile and antisocial when her life is in danger from zombies and attacking demons. Not to mention, an associate who is being manipulated to hurt her and this chick just doesn't get the picture. I would recommend this book because its a entertaining read and the author encourages the other characters to show their stuff. This one gets 4.5 stars.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - First in a New Urban Fantasy Series
Megan Chase has just started work at her new radio phone-in show, where she offers to slay her listener's personal demons. Unbeknownst to her, however, personal demons actually exist (everyone in the world has one except Megan) and they take her vow to eradicate them slightly personally (excuse the pun).

I think Personal Demons is the very first urban fantasy I've read which is written in third (albeit a very tight third) person. It was a book of two parts for me. I found the beginning quite slow, a lot of build up whilst you're waiting for something to happen.

Having said that, once something does happen and Malleus, Maleficarum and Spud (the cockney demons) turn up on page 89, suddenly the story takes off with a blast. So if you're reading this and want to give up, don't until page 106, when you'll have read a chapter of M,M&S. So very first person - no, gutsy female protagonist with a mysterious past - yes, sexy demon with an ulterior motive - check. Until M,M&S turn up, it was Greyson Dante the aforementioned sexy demon that kept me reading.

"...Do you want to talk or not?"
He sighed. "No. Well, I did, but now I don't. You lied to me."

Megan is perhaps not the most instantly engaging urban fantasy heroine I've ever read. She's not as interesting a protagonist when Dante or M,M&S aren't there for her to spar with. But by the end of the book she'd grown on me. And rather than sitting back and letting Dante protect her she takes proactive steps including receiving some training in how to focus her powers from a somewhat snarky witch - Tera. Admittedly some of her proactiveness stems from her refusal to believe Dante is a demon, but once she's seen his spinelets she changes her tune. (LOL)

Dante on the other hand is sexy, sneaky and as well as keeping tabs on Megan is manipulating the situation to his advantage. He is an anti-hero. This is one of the big plusses of the book for me. He is a demon and Stacia Kane doesn't try to make him something that he isn't.

If I had any quibbles it would be that in a couple of places I felt like we skipped stuff so we could get to the action and that Megan didn't always listen to what people were trying to tell her. But other than that I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Book #2 Demon Inside January 2009.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Personal Demons
Personal Demons brought together nearly the entire paranormal world: demons of every variety, witches, and even zombies make an appearance. Nonstop action and intrigue hold the attention from start to finish, as Megan Chase finds out a murder from her childhood set off a series of events, which now threaten her life and sanity. With the help of flame controlling demon, Greyson Dante, and three hilarious demon bodyguards Dante protects her with, Megan embraces her own powers on the way to uncovering the truth from her childhood.
