Product Description:
Death By The Drop is the adventurous tale of John Steele's second chance at life... though in his case this second chance means becoming one of the undead - a vampire. Don't look for the dark, brooding characters commonly found in many popular vampire novels. Our heroes are fun-loving characters, who appreciate a good joke or prank as much as any human. John's adventure begins in New Orleans, but before he gets an opportunity to experience his new existence to the fullest, he's almost done in by one of his own kind. Determined to take advantage of his second chance, John sets out to be everything he wasn't as a human. Things quickly become chaotic, thanks to a top secret FBI unit, a misguided group of Templars, and a great-grandfather who not only helps save the night, but also knows how to throw a heck of a party!

When I very first picked up Death By The Drop, I expected another "standard" vampire novel...sorry Mr. Stoker. But I wasn't really looking for another book that attempts to entertain me by trying to scare the crap out of me. I needed something with a fresh and new perspective. And I also wanted something fun to read. What I got was a lighthearted comedy that transported me into the mystical and hilarious world of vampires. But Mr. Massie just didn't transport me there for a quick visit; he kept me there for the entire novel, making me feel as though I was part of his story. In one part of the book as the characters were sitting around the table, I felt I was sitting right there with them as we planned our subsequent move.
These characters are pleasantly complex and despite having the ability to suck the blood right out of you, possess the human traits of compassion, anger, humour and love; but in such a way as you never expect when or how these traits will appear. So it really keeps you on your toes. I would like to see further development of these characters as we hopefully have more books like this to read.
Death By The Drop is exactly the kind of book I like to read and I highly recommend it to all of you who would like to escape your everyday routine and be drawn into the above ground world of the vampires. But be warned...this book will make you laugh out loud so remember your surroundings!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by Timothy Massie's DEATH BY THE DROP. The storyline was well thought out, the characters were dynamic and fun, and the humour was sarcastic and just the way I like it. Some parts literally made me cry because I was laughing so hard. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun read and is totally done with all the generic vampire novels out on the market today.

"Death by the Drop" was riveting. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. A cover-your-mouth laugh-out-loud story about a recently divorced real estate guy looking for some "action" in New Orlenes. Only to be picked-up and taken home by a lady vampire.
Follow John Steele, now a Sophomore Vampire while he receives tutelage from two lady vampires and a fellow experienced vampire, all while trying to avoid a fellow renegade vampire who is jealous of him.
I laughed, and I laughed, and I cried, and I laughed. What a tale of a modern day vampire who tries to live life to its fullest now that he is dead.
I read the very first 4 chapters straight out of the Amazon box the day it arrived! The day I finished, I strongly considered starting over and reading it again. So entertaining, I bought extras and sent them to my friends so I could share, but no give up my own copy!
Tim Massie has an excellent sence of humour and a fresh way of writing as the character's mind wanders in his predicament...while being a brand new vampire learning to harness and refine new super-powers. One never knows what a new vampire goes thru in acclimating to his new "life". Tim answers those questions with excellent humor...but you'll never know if you don't read "Death by the Drop".

Who knew that a vampire could be funny, witty, charming and a nice guy? Massie has created a new kind of vampire hero in his main character John Steele, formerly a boring human, turned adventurous and amorous vampire, living large as a dead guy. The story, as told by Steele, provides humor, intrigue, a bit of romance and of course, a scene or two of gut-wrenching gore. But what gives this vampire novel its uniqueness is its first-person narative that keeps you turning the pages as you get to know Steele and his crazy sense of humor. You'll find yourself laughing out loud. Steele is the kind of guy you want as your buddy and a vampire you want on your side.

A great read. Humorous fun and entertainment. Didn't think I would enjoy reading about a vampire and his escapades, but John Steele is lots of fun to follow through his loves, dangerous missions and of course, dinner!
